Challenge: For over two decades, the FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) has been the guiding light for excellence in the fire industry. Each year, the Indiana Convention Center becomes a hub where top companies gather, showcasing the latest tools and technologies designed to save and safeguard.
Solution: My process was driven by a comprehensive creative brief questionnaire and a meticulous SWOT analysis, laying the groundwork for the creative process that followed.
Creative Process:
1. Objective Finding: Stay focused on the ideal state you want to create, rather than just the solution to the problem.
2. Data Gathering: The search for insight starts with data collection and ends with deciding which data is vital, interesting, and insightful.
3. Problem Design: After identifying objectives and gathering data, determine whether the original problem is still the right problem to solve.
4. Ideation: Don’t solve the problem during ideation; generate as many possibilities as possible and leave the judgment of those possibilities for the next stage.
5. Selection: Be specific about what constitutes a solution to your problem, and be ruthless in determining which ideas meet those criteria.
